FPV Underwater Structural Repair

SETS were contracted to provide project management and engineering for the repair of a hairline crack on a central North Sea Floating Production Vessel (FPV) at EL-15m.  The crack had been identified at the FPV’s leg – pontoon interface. 
STEP 1, SETS reviewed potential options for the repair and identified use of a cofferdam as the preferred solution.
STEP 2, All project management, engineering and QHSE for the design and manufacture of the cofferdam and development of the repair process was completed by SETS.
STEP 3, SETS operations team managed the repair scope offshore which included installation of the cofferdam by air diving and completion of the repair by platform personnel.  Operations were conducted through winter 2012 due to the urgency to complete repairs.
STEP 4, Throughout the operation SETS’ PMT provided reporting back through the client’s project command structure.
STEP 5, Following the successful completion of repairs SETS prepared the As-Built and Close Out reports.
