NSO - FPSO Reinstatement Work
FPSO Reinstatement Works
Location: North Sea
Phase: Design & Execute
Year: Sept 13 – July 2014
Initially brought in to provide specific design and engineering of a pull-in winch for FPSO riser reinstatement, SETS were subsequently commissioned to project manage and engineer the full FPSO riser and dynamic umbilical reinstatement campaign.
STEP 1, SETS worked with the client to re-frame of the scope from a specific design and engineering package to PM&E of the riser and dynamic umbilical re-installation.
STEP 2, SETS’ PMT developed the riser and dynamic umbilical installation strategy and subsequently completed the detailed design for the installation works. In addition SETS tooling design team developed a bespoke running tool for the riser pull-ins.
STEP 3, SETS PMT oversaw the quayside FPSO turret preparatory works prior to tow out to field; SETS managed the operations team in-field to supervise the successful installation and pre-commissioning of the risers and installation of the dynamic umbilical on to the FPSO. In addition, SETS supervised the subsea tie-ins at the riser bases and UTA hook up.
STEP 4, Throughout the operation SETS’ PMT provided reporting back through the wider project command structure.
STEP 5, Following this campaign SETS prepared the As-Built and Close Out reports for the riser and umbilical re-instatement work.
Key Challenges :
· Interface management between multiple stakeholders and sub-contractors
· Maintaining schedule and timings and overcoming issues through late engagement.
· Document control integration and alignment
